European Electromobility Stakeholder Forum
The 3rd edition of the European Electromobility Stakeholder Forum (Brussels, February 25-26, 2015) was hosted by the three flagship electromobility projects of the European Commission: Green eMotion, FREVUE and ZeEUS. The forum welcomed more than 200 European electromobility experts and representatives from industry, public authorities, transport agencies, utilities, research institutes and academia. Through high level round tables and parallel workshops, attendees learnt about the developments of electromobility in Europe. “Electromobility is a promising technology also because it is at the cross-roads with our energy system and our digital market. We have to work on those three aspects: mobility, energy and digital to make it happen", said Magda Kopczynska, head of Directorate on Innovative & Sustainable Mobility in the European Commission DG MOVE. The Green eMotion project (03/2011 – 02/2015) had the goal to develop and to demonstrate a commonly accepted and user- friendly framework consisting of interoperable and scalable technical solutions in connection with a sustainable ICT business platform. The goal of FREVUE (February 2013-2017) is to demonstrate how electric freight vehicles offer a viable, clean and efficient alternative to conventional freight vehicles in urban freight delivery while the scope of ZeEUS (11/2013 – 04/2017) is testing electrification solutions at the heart of the urban bus system network through live urban demonstrations and facilitating the market uptake of electric buses in Europe (35 electric buses in 8 European cities coordinate by UITP, the International Association of Public Transport).
